Every City has Streets that stand out from the rest when looking at the Communities and Businesses that are located on them. I have been living in Henderson NV for the last 16 years. Prior to that I lived in Summerlin Canyon’s Village on the West Side of Las Vegas.
Living in Anthem Country Club and having a child who attends Coronado High School I often access many of the side streets such as Sunridge Heights and Horizon Ridge Parkway. Henderson Nevada over the last 10 years or so has witnessed a ton of new development in local businesses and new home construction.
Over the last 2 1/2 to 3 years the amount of California Residents that have relocated to the Seven Hills, Anthem and Inspirada home communities has been voluminous. For many Buyers looking to relocate, the main objectives they are concerned with are safety and access to upscale shopping and dining. Coming from areas such as Orange County or other affluent areas of California, this is what they are accustomed to.
Finding homes that have the style and architecture that many of the new residents to Henderson are wanting, is realized on both Sunridge Heights & Horizon Ridge Parkway with various price points and floorplan / Square footage options.
From Custom Homes inside MacDonald Highlands Country Club to more of a tract home community like The Canyons by Lennar, a new home community with modern styling and technology features can be found.
Horizon Ridge can be accessed off of Eastern Ave by heading East on Sunridge Heights or by exiting the 215 Beltway on Green Valley Parkway, Valle Verde, Stephanie, or Gibson Ave. The most well known of these exits is Green Valley Parkway as it is easily recognized from the freeway by the Green Valley Ranch Casino / Resort with access to the District at Green Valley Ranch and all of the Shopping / Dining options therein.
Also located on Green Valley Parkway are a Whole Foods Market, Community Center, Paseo Verde Library and the incredible Henderson Police Dept. The Green Valley Ranch area that surrounds the Resort is filled with Restaurants, Shopping, Parks and Gyms that appeal to a wide range of interests. A few of my favorite spots are Bad Owl Coffee Shop, Kitchen Table, Craft Kitchen, Metro Pizza, and Linda Michoacan Gourmet Mexican Cuisine with Incredible Views of the City Skyline just to name a few.
As someone who values Fitness I also recommend LifeTime Fitness next door to Green Valley Ranch and any of the various Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Chinese Martial Art Schools located on Eastern Ave.
Blue Heron is one of the most well known Home Builders for Modern Architecture here in the Las Vegas Valley and Sky Terrace located just off of Sunridge Heights is a collection of 44 homes carved into the Hills with some home sites having City Views.
Located next to Sky Terrace are Axis by Pardee Homes, these Ultra Modern homes are priced from the High $800k range and offer 5 floorpans to choose from. Just across from the entrance to Axis are The Canyons by Lennar, these homes range in square footage from 3,194 to 3,669 with pricing in the mid $600,000’s.
Turning Right on Horizon Ridge Pkwy and heading East you will 1st drive through the age restricted section of MacDonald Ranch know as Sun City with access to the Desert Willow Golf Course and it’s adjoining Community Center / Clubhouse there are re-sale options available in Sun City MacDonald Ranch for those that qualify (55+).
Just off of Horizon Ridge turning on Roma Hills Dr. the community of Roma Hills and also Ascaya can be found. Blue Heron is in the process of selling Obsidian Home Collection inside the gates of Roma Hills which will offer 33 lots, many of which having Panoramic City Views with interior spaces from 5,012 to 7,690 square feet. Obsidian is one of those new communities that is very exciting and one to watch in the Henderson New Modern Home Market, very exclusive and unique to our city.
Just past Macdonald Highlands gated Golf Course Community which is comprised of Custom Home sites and the sprawling beauty of Dragon Ridge Country Club sits another of Blue Heron’s projects labeled Horizon Lights that is currently Sold Out as it was such a hit.

Last but not least are the smaller Horizons Edge Homes by D.R. Horton with prices in the $500k range and many floorplans that have a really cool, open roof deck option facing the City, Horizons Edge is just off of Horizon Ridge east of Stephanie Street before Gibson Ave. For Buyers wanting Modern Architecture and Style without spending a Million Dollars Horizons Edge is a viable option, inventory is limited currently but re-sale options are available based on current inventory.
